Seb Zel is a Brooklyn-based composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and audio engineer who crafts immersive sonic experiences by blending his refined classical background with a conceptual approach to contemporary music production.
His compositions have been featured across a diverse range of genres, including award-winning independent films such as the Roku feature Playing Sam and the HBO short La Piel de Ayer. His work has also been integral to high-profile brand campaigns for Timberland, Puma, and Office, as well as a nationally televised MLB commercial featuring Saturday Night Live’s Marcello Hernandez. Recognized for his innovation and artistry, Zel was awarded a fully funded residency at the Avaloch Farm Music Institute in 2024 and won Best Original Soundtrack in the undergraduate category at the 2020 NYU First Run Film Festival for Knightman.
Zel frequently collaborates with the production company Easy Mondays and serves as a staff composer at CornerStore, where he brings ad campaigns to life through dynamic scoring. Beyond commercial production, he is one half of Dreamphone, an indie-alternative duo that fuses electronic precision with organic warmth. His live performance repertoire continues to expand—he recently completed a U.S. tour as a guitarist, bassist, and keyboardist for Zinadelphia, and regularly provides musical accompaniment for ballet classes at the Misty Copeland Foundation. Additionally, he performs in unconventional settings throughout NYC, including a recent live set as part of Midi Neutron Collective at Electric Sunshine, a streetwear boutique.
In his Brooklyn studio, Seb actively collaborates with a wide range of artists, from emerging composers and indie rock bands to acclaimed rappers. Notably, he played guitar on 4L by Ghais Guevara, a track from the same album as The Old Guard Is Dead, which was featured during the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show. 4L has since amassed over half a million streams.
Born and raised in Miami Beach, Zel earned his bachelor's degree in Music Composition & Theory from NYU Steinhardt, where he studied classical composition under Ezequiel Viñao, classical guitar with Pedro Da Silva, and jazz bass with Ron McClure.
